North Macedonia
September 13-14. I made a quick stop in Skopje, North Macedonia. My hotel, the Hotel Senigallia, was pretty funky, a fake ship on the river (see album below). Skopje is a very walkable city, and not particularly large. The Old Bazaar made me think of a Central Asia market. There are statues and monuments everywhere. I was told that this was a way for a prior corrupt president to make money from kickbacks and that the construction was substandard (which was easy to see; many of the monuments were already falling apart).
