2019
This was a big travel year, with visits to 23 UN member countries, as well as Trans Dniester.
We spent the winter in the Caribbean (St. Lucia, Bequia, Barbados) and South America (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia). Then I had to fly to London for work and came back to visit French Guiana, Suriname, and Guyana, with stops in Trinidad & Tobago, and Grenada on the way home.
I started the summer by visiting my daughter in Spain, then went to Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova (and Trans Dniester), Ukraine, Belarus, and Lithuania. I joined up with Joanne in Helsinki and we went to St. Petersburg, Estonia, and Latvia before flying to Barcelona. We then took Royal Yachting Association classes based out of L'Escala, Spain. Joanne completed the Competent Crew class and I completed the Coastal Skipper class. After spending a few days relaxing with friends in Roses, we drove down the coast, stopping in Sitges, Alicante, Almeria, and Malaga.
For Thanksgiving, I flew to Hong Kong to visit my daughter who was working there at the time, then went to Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Kathmandu. I flew east about via Finland and returned home from Nepal via Hong Kong and LA, so completed my third trip around the world by plane.
